Technical Helpline Advisor

Permanent, Full Time

We will consider part time and flexible working with the salary pro rata on the hours worked

Salary: £24,647-£30,000 Depending on Experience

Due to a continued growth period, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Helpline Advisor to join our HETAS Technical team. This is a full time, permanent position based in our friendly Tewkesbury offices.

As Technical Helpline Advisor, your main responsibility will be to work alongside the Technical helpline team to assist with responding to incoming technical queries from installers, review of cases and to support with certification activities and additional technical projects within the company as a whole. As part of your role, you will develop technical knowledge of the industry in order to respond effectively to incoming enquires.

This position will suit an individual with previous experience working within either the solid fuel heating or plumbing sector, who may be looking for a change of environment to support a growing company’s objectives for a safer and cleaner future. To be considered for this position, you must hold relevant technical knowledge and show a positive attitude and a willingness to continue to learn about the industry.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working as part of the technical team, resolving technical queries within HETAS
  • Provide relevant technical support and liaison to other HETAS departments
  • Receive regular information on changes to legislation and HETAS policies and update technical advice accordingly
  • Liaise with and provide information to external industry organisations. Advise them of HETAS requirements, changes, and developments so that HETAS and its registrants are promoted positively
  • Undertake review of inspection reports, supporting the complaints and inspections team where required
  • Assist in the technical evaluation of products against the audit checking process and documentation provided by the applicant

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Relevant experience in Domestic Heating/Plumbing and/or Biomass is desirable
  • Relevant qualification (NVQ/City & Guild/HETAS/Technical experience) is essential
  • Broad knowledge of Building Regulation requirements, BSI standards, Environmental regulations, Health & Safety Act, and associated provisions of the construction industry is desirable
  • Develop an understanding of the industry, its stakeholders, HETAS procedures, schemes, and overall objectives
  • Flexible attitude, proactive in supporting registrants and colleagues
  • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work both within a team and when required on your own.
  • A working experience of Microsoft Office packages
